Excellent piece and so simple to accomplish. I've always looked at members of an effective as a bevy of zealots rather than a congregation of ambassadors. (Zealots actively participate, ambassadors tend to sit behind desks waiting to be asked.) That last point about putting one's mouth where one's money is - well, that's a refreshing change for most. The nonprofits with which I've worked/consulted have had issues with control - too much or not enough - with their board members or donors, but nothing stops anyone from recommending the work of a charity (as one would recommend a movie) to a friend. Selfless zealotry wins out 10 times out of 10.
Love this Lisa, Thank you!
Lisa, this was wonderful and will be very helpful for those that read it!
