As many of you know from my book and this blog, I have set up Donor Advised Fund (DAF) accounts for all my children. For my younger kids (age 14), the checks come from my children’s (named) fund that’s under my stewardship. A few times a year, I remind the kids to think of a nonprofit to support if they haven’t yet allocated the funds in their account. (I “refill” their accounts annually.)
I'm curious about the DAFs that you set up for your children. Mine are now adults, but I'm thinking this might be something that I can explore doing with/for them and helping to start funding it for them. Thanks for the inspiration!
Your son represents nextgen philanthropists who will be giving through their skills, talents and ideas along with, and perhaps in advance of, their funds. What a beautiful story!
